CHERY ICAUR V23 BAGS 5-STAR RATING IN ASEAN NCAP

The Chery iCAUR (not iCAR) V23 was recently subjected to the rigorous ASEAN NCAP v4 protocol. The electric SUV aced the crash test with a full five-star rating. The test mule was produced in China, and the same is sold in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Here’s a comprehensive breakdown.

Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): 31.77/32.00

Frontal impact: All vulnerable regions (head, neck, chest, and legs) were rated as good for the driver. Ratings were similar for the front passenger, with the only difference being adequate chest protection. Overall score stood at 15.77/16.00.

The Chery iCAUR V23 comes equipped with ABS, ESC, front-row seatbelt reminder, AEB (City and Inter-urban), and advanced Safety Assist Tech (SAT) like lane departure warning, FCW, and Lane Keep Assist (LKA).

With blind spot detection coming in as standard across all variants, the iCAUR V23 secured 8/8 points. Auto high beam, pedestrian protection, and advanced MST (Motorcyclist Safety Tech) were rated at 2/2, bringing the total score to 14/16 points.

With a total of 91.02 points, the Chery iCAUR V23 is eligible for a five-star rating.

With a recent test mule spied in India, it is almost certain that the Chery iCAUR V23 eSUV will come here as a JSW BEV.
