DENZA Z: BYD CHALLENGES PORSCHE 911 AT WAY LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE

BYD’s mid-tier luxury brand, Denza, introduced its concept sports car, the Denza Z, at the Shanghai International Auto Show. This four-seater coupe showcases BYD’s latest technologies, which will also be featured in future Denza models. BYD’s Denza Z is positioned to compete with the Porsche 911, but at a significantly lower price point.

In China, it is priced at 300,000 yuan, approximately Rs 35 lakh. In contrast, the starting price for a Porsche 911 is Rs 2.11 crore.

Sleek And Sporty Design

The Denza Z boasts a low and sporty exterior design, with a bold front lip and sharp headlights that create an energetic look. Its overall design is smooth and dynamic, available in both hardtop and convertible versions.

This two-door coupe features a compact body, with the cabin narrowing from the B-pillar to form a muscular shape over the rear wheels. It also includes frameless windows, hidden door handles, and larger wheels.

Advanced Steer-By-Wire System

Unlike traditional internal combustion engine sports cars, the Denza Z is equipped with a steer-by-wire system powered by advanced AI algorithms. This system provides a smooth and refined handling experience on regular roads, while ensuring precise and responsive steering on the track.

Additionally, the Denza Z includes a foldable steering wheel that enhances safety by creating extra space during a collision and offers a futuristic driving experience.

Disus-M System For Enhanced Stability

The Denza Z features the Disus-M system, an upgraded version of the current Disus-Z. This intelligent magnetorheological body control system can make real-time adjustments based on road conditions, with suspension responses in less than 10 milliseconds. According to Denza, this technology enhances stability and support during high-speed cornering. The Disus-M system will also be available in other upcoming Denza and BYD models.

While full specifications and pricing details have yet to be released, the Denza Z is expected to be priced over 300,000 yuan (42,000 USD). Additionally, BYD’s recently released 30,511 rpm motor, already fitted in the BYD Han L and Tang L models, is not a surprising addition to the Denza Z.
