MARUTI SUZUKI E VITARA: 5 MUST-KNOW FACTS BEFORE THE LAUNCH

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to enter the electric vehicle segment with the much-anticipated e Vitara. The electric SUV was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and will be the company’s first pure electric vehicle. Here are five things to know about the e Vitara ahead of its official launch in India.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Specs, Battery, Range

The e Vitara will be available in two battery options — 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The entry-level has a maximum power of 142 bhp and 189 Nm of torque with a single motor. The 61 kWh battery churns out 172 bhp with identical torque and a single motor. The Japanese four-wheeler manufacturer takes a notch up with the top model that retains the 61 kWh battery but is equipped with twin motors and AllGrip form of all-wheel drive. It has an output of around 181 bhp and 300 Nm. With a 150 kW charger, the 61 kWh battery juices up from 10% to 80% in 45 minutes. The EV SUV gets multiple drive modes — Eco, Normal and Sport while the AWD version comes with Snow mode for better traction.

According to a report by Auto Express, the 49 kWh single-motor e Vitara accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.6 seconds, while the 61 kWh version takes 8.7 seconds. The AWD variant sprints in 7.4 seconds.

In terms of range, the base trim returns around 345 km, the entry version of the 61 kWh boasts the best figures with 426 km and 396 km for the AWD model.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: 10-year warranty

Suzuki recently announced a 10-year or 160,000 km battery warranty for the UK and Ireland markets, and this is likely to extend to the e Vitara when it launches in India. Interestingly, Mahindra is offering a more generous 10-year or 200,000 km warranty on the BE 06, with the first private owners even receiving a lifetime battery warranty. In comparison, both the Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta Electric come with an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty.
