TATA ALTROZ CNG FACELIFT SPOTTED TESTING: WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR

Tata Motors is working on a facelifted version of the Altroz. The Altroz hasn’t received any major updates since it was first launched in early 2020, barring the introduction of Altroz iTurbo in 2022 followed by Altroz Racer last year. Test mules of the Altroz facelift have been spotted on a number of occasions over the past one year.

Now, another prototype of the Altroz facelift has been caught on camera testing. Like all previous test mules, the latest one has been completely wrapped under a camouflage making it difficult to predict the exterior changes. However, one thing that stands out is the CNG sticker pasted on the rear windshield.

2025 Tata Altroz CNG facelift: Expected exteriors & interiors

This reveals that Tata will continue to offer a factory-fitted CNG kit in the premium hatchback. Despite the heavy camouflage, we are still able to deduce many visual changes. For instance, it gets a redesigned front fascia featuring a new grille flanked by sleeker LED headlights and a tweaked front bumper with repositioned fog lamps that are now vertically oriented. Another notable update is a slightly larger air dam.

At the rear, the taillamps seem to be different from the current model. There are no visible changes on the side profile. The hatchback seems to run on steel wheels. There is no visible evidence for its interiors but we expect the cabin to be in sync with the new range of Tata models. This includes a new steering wheel with a touch panel at the centre  seen in Nexon and Curvv. We can expect more piano black finish on the revised dashboard to give it a more premium appeal.

2025 Tata Altroz CNG facelift: Expected powertrain

Mechanically, the Tata Altroz CNG facelift will remain unchanged. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre dual-fuel engine which pushes out 72 bhp and 103 Nm of peak torque. It will be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Other versions of the Altroz will receive 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options will include 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
